Large 19th Century Antique Leather Covered Glove Box with lovely embossed decoration. Handle and closure in tact.
This lovely old glove box is decorated with embossed scenes of men, women and children in nature. There are mushrooms, flowers. leaves, animals, a dog, an angel playing a harp, a house. The inside is covered with golden brown silky fabric and there’s a little velvet band running along the inside lid and also along the outside bottom rim.
Inside there’s a little loop to hold the glove stretcher, but there’s no stretcher included.

Size: length 31cm, width 9cm, height 6cm

Condition: In good generalantique condition with signs of wear as expected on a box that has clearly been used. The corners are a little worn. There are some dark smudges on the leather and it looks that at one time it has been repaired on the inside where the lid may have come loose a little. On the outside you see a dark band what may be glue. It’s on the back so it doesn’t distract from its beauty at all 🙂 Please have a close look at the photos.

Packaging
I try to be as sustainable as I possibly can in packing up the items. I reuse boxes and other packing materials and I strive to use as little plastic as I can, but I won’t compromise on protecting the item so there may be plastic bubble wrap in your package.
