This is an authentic vintage 1950s-1960s pair of white kid gloves, woman’s size 7-1/2. They are wrist length — also called Classic length — enough for the tops to disappear under a long sleeve or just cover a wristwatch otherwise. The name of the glover is unknown, but according to the imprint inside the right-hand glove, they were made in Belgium from real kid (i.e., young goat). The imprint also indicates they are washable, but we would recommend they be hand-washed in a mild detergent. We’d also recommend they be air-dried, preferably on a form if you have one, but flat on a towel if you don’t.
Condition-wise, these gloves are virtually pristine; they don’t appear to have ever been worn. There are some vertical folds on the wrist of the right-hand glove (please see our images), and if these bother you they can easily be remedied by pressing between two slightly damp towels for about an hour.
Regardless, these are a perfect complement to any formal wardrobe, mid-century or not.
